| NOTE TO PARENTS |
Parents, we kindly ask your assistance in helping the students with practice time card accountability. Practice is essential to your child’s individual success and to the collective success of the band.
For 6th Grade Beginning Band, this class component is worth 30% of the beginning band student’s grade. For 7th/8th Concert Band, there is an incentive schedule for those students who continue to turn in time cards. No matter what the grade level, time cards are a vital component of the progressive musical training and structure at Panhandle Junior High School. This important discipline leads our students into positive behavior patterns with which they will successfully make exemplary contributions to our high school band program in future years. This accountability measure also helps us in determining that other help may be necessary for our students to succeed. Please refer to the “Time Card Coupon” section for information on other “help incentives” for our students.

TIME CARD COUPONS
Students are eligible for extra credit opportunities in their practice time, by way of “Time Card Coupons”. The guidelines are as follows:
REGULAR COUPONS
Each student is eligible for ONE free card per six weeks. Use it wisely!
ADDITIONAL COUPONS
Additionsl coupons can be earned by proper individual conduct in band, by section contests, and by “honor roll” academic performance.
WHAT THEY’RE WORTH
Each coupon is good for ONE FREE HOUR of practice.
