2009 Marching Show - "An African Odyssey"
The 2009 Marching Show is entitled "An African Odyssey." The music was written by Barry Hurt and the percussion by Eric Rath. The show is a musical depiction of a journey across the continent of Africa. The journey begins with a "Congo Safari". The melody is based on Maasia tribal themes. That is followed by a trip through the "Sands of the Kalahari" desert and the "Valley of the Elephants".

The middle tune begins on the shores of the "Zambezi River" and concludes with the magnificent "Victoria Falls." "Victoria Falls" is intented to capture the spirit and beauty of the falls, as they were seen by Dr. David Livingstone, the first European to see the falls, in 1855.

The closer begins with "Serengeti Chant." It takes place on the Serengeti Plain and is intented to capture the excitement of the herds of animals on the plain. The closer continues with "Lion Attack", featuring the percussion section. The show concludes with an upclose and personal view of the awe-inspiring Mt. Kilimanjaro.

We are very excited to start learning the show. We hope you enjoy watching and listening throughout the fall!

2008 Marching Show - "Cirque du Soleil"
The 2008 Marching Show consisted of music from Cirque du Soleil. The opener is a fast-paced, in your face selection entitled "Distorted" from the production "La Nouba." The middle selection is a combination of two different selections. The beginning is entitled "Quidam" from the production of the same name and the remainder of the piece is "Reve Rouge", also from the before mentioned "La Nouba". The closer is a driving, middle eastern, gypsy sounding selection entitled "Incantation". This selection is taken from "Quidam."
